Shame

Banging on the prison door
An emotional barricade
Of blockbusters and bruises.
I forgot how to spell
Pain
And floated out of the door.
I ventured places
And saw worlds unimagined,
But then,
Like a train,
It washed away
The chalk inside
And caved in
My heart’s chambers
And my blood began to pour.
It swelled inside
The beast of ages
Eating the young
Breaking the cages
Where tail and talon
Have hidden so long.
